Q: Do you quilt customer-supplied quilts?
A:Yes! Customers provide the quilt top, backing, and batting (unless batting is purchased through us).

Q: What size quilts do you accept?
A: We can accept up to a king-size quilt. If you are unsure, please contact us with your quilt top measurements.

Q: What is included in the cost of the quilting and how do I calculate it?
A: Cost is inclusive of the design cost + $5 flat thread cost + batting (if applicable). To calculate your design cost, measure your quilt top and multiple the W * L to get your total square inches. Then multiply that number by the design cost. For example, if your quilt top is 50" x 60" and the design cost is $0.025/sq in, your cost would be 3,000 * $0.025, or $75.00. Add to that the $5 flat thread cost + batting, if applicable.

Q: Do you have a minimum charge?
A: Yes, we have a minimum charge of $50.00.

Q: How should I prepare my quilt top?
A: Quilt tops should be pressed flat with all seams secure. Borders should be attached and squared. No loose threads, please. Mark the top of the quilt top, especially if it is not obvious.

Q: How much backing do you require and how should I prepare it?
A: We require at least 4" on all sides for the backing to be secured to the longarm machine. For example, if your quilt top is 50" x 60", your backing should be at least 58" x 68". Seams should have at least a 1/2" seam allowance. Although horizontal seams are preferred, vertical seams are fine.

Q: How much batting should I supply if I bring my own?
A: Batting should be at least 2" larger than your quilt top on all sides. For example, if your quilt top is 50" x 60", your batting should be at least 54" x 64". To be safe, you can match your batting and backing sizes.

Q: What batting do you offer?
A: We use Quilter's Dream Select 80/20 Blend (Midloft) in Natural and White.

Q: What quilting designs do you offer?
A: We currently only offer edge to edge (E2E) pantograph designs. If you are looking for custom work, we are happy to provide recommendations of local custom longarmers.

Q: How do I choose a quilting design?
A: You can choose from our design library, or we’re happy to help recommend a design that complements your quilt.

Q: What if you don't have a design I want? Are you able to purchase one for me?
A: Sure! If we do not have a design you desire, we can purchase one to your liking and split the cost. Most pantographs are in the $15 range, so your cost would be $7.50.

Q: What thread colors are available?
A: A wide range of neutral and color threads are available at the shop. We’re happy to suggest a color that works best with your quilt.

Q: How long does the process take?
A: Turnaround time varies based on workload and quilt complexity. Typical turnaround is 7-10 days, but check in with us!

Q: Do you offer rush service?
A: Rush service may be available for an additional fee, depending on availability.

Q: Will my quilt be squared and trimmed?
A: No, we will return the quilt to you untrimmed off the machine.

Q: Will you seam backing?
A: Yes, we can seam your backing together for a charge of $10.

Q: Do you bind quilts?
A: At this time, we do not offer binding service.

Q: Can I ship my quilt to you?
A: Yes! Quilts can be shipped at the customer’s expense. Return shipping options are available. Please reach out to us prior to shipping to confirm all details.

Q: What if my quilt top isn’t perfectly square?
A: Minor issues are common and manageable. Significant fullness or distortion may require extra prep or adjustments and can lead to puckering. We will notify you if we find any issues that may be noticeable.

Q: Will you quilt on all materials?
A: At this time, we are only accepting quilts made with quilting cottons and flannel and T-shirt quilts that are interfaced. If you are unsure about your quilt materials, please come in and let's talk through it!
