Bagmaking Basics - Petit Four

Kick off our 4-part Beginner Bag-Making Series with the charming Petit Four Basket! This fun and approachable project is designed to ease you into the world of bag construction while giving you a finished piece you’ll love using or gifting. In this first class, we’ll cover essential foundational skills, accurate cutting, working with soft stabilizers, and simple boxed construction. You’ll learn how to handle small projects at the machine, manage layers cleanly, and sew crisp corners for a polished finish.
Using just a 10" square or scraps, you’ll create a fully finished fabric basket perfect for organizing small sewing notions, gifting, or adding a pop of handmade charm to any room. This class sets you up for success as we move through the series. Each session will introduce new materials, techniques, and complexity, helping you build confidence step by step. By the end of this class, you'll have a cute and functional basket, and the skills you need to keep progressing on your bag-making journey!
All materials for the class (including the machine!) will be provided. Just bring yourself! If you would like to bring in your own machine, please feel free to do so.
