Beginner Sewing Series

Ready to dive into sewing? This hands-on beginner series is the perfect place to start! In Session 1, you’ll learn how to thread, troubleshoot, and confidently use a sewing machine while getting familiar with basic fabric terms and handy tools. Then we’ll jump right into your first project, making two adorable fabric coasters! Along the way, you’ll pick up essential skills like using fusible fleece, pivoting at corners, top stitching, sewing with accurate seam allowances, and pressing for a crisp finish. It’s a relaxed, creative class designed to build your confidence and spark your love of sewing!
Keep building your sewing skills with Session 2 of the beginner class! In this session, you’ll take your basics to the next level while creating a stylish, fully lined tote bag. Learn how to sew with accurate seam allowances, add linings and handles, box corners, top stitch, and finish seams like a pro. We’ll also cover essential pressing techniques to give your bag a crisp, polished look. You’ll leave class with a finished tote you’ll be proud to carry—and the confidence to tackle even more sewing projects!
All materials for the class (including the machine!) will be provided. Just bring yourself! If you would like to bring in your own machine, please feel free to do so. A handy student handout will also be provided for you to take home that will cover what was addressed in the class.
